Rebel Wolves is preparing to release a substantial update for its vampire RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, next week. Patch 1.1 is set to introduce over 1,000 improvements and fixes, aiming to enhance the overall player experience.
The developer announced the highlights of the forthcoming patch via its official X account, detailing new features and changes.
New Features and Improvements
Patch 1.1 will include a new, even easier difficulty setting for players who found the current Story mode challenging. The existing Story mode will be renamed to Forgiving. A significant addition is the Draught of Mind Rebirth, an item that allows players to reset all their unlocked abilities, offering a chance to experiment with different builds. In a feature that may appeal to many players, the update also adds directional animal petting, enabling interactions with dogs and cats within the game world.
Further enhancing accessibility, the patch introduces additional subtitle settings, including the option to increase font size and enable subtitles for all dialogue lines. The Japanese version of the game on Steam will also see the removal of censorship for blood and gore.
Improvements extend to various gameplay systems. The FrameGen technology will receive an update with dedicated settings. Players can expect enhancements to camera movements and animations during combat, as well as improvements to targeting, locking onto, and disengaging from enemies. Traversal mechanics, including Shadowstep and Planeshift, will see better responsiveness in targeting and surface attachment.
Content and Future Considerations
While the patch addresses numerous aspects of the game, a highly requested feature, New Game Plus, is not included in this update. Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has indicated that the team is investigating the possibility of adding it in the future but could not provide further details.
Rebel Wolves has not yet specified an exact release date for patch 1.1 or confirmed if it will launch simultaneously across all platforms.
