The Blood of Dawnwalker has achieved a significant sales milestone, selling over one million copies in just three days following its launch on September 2. Rebel Wolves announced the achievement via the game's official Twitter account on September 5, thanking players for their support.

This early success marks a strong debut for the dark vampire RPG. Reviewers have noted its strengths, with the Australian editor of PC Gamer awarding it an 83% and praising its storytelling and combat. However, some critics suggested that the game could have leaned more heavily into its unique time mechanics, with one review noting that the time limit's severity might have been reduced to avoid player frustration. Interestingly, some of the earliest mods for the game have focused on removing this time limit entirely.

The positive reception extends to player reviews as well. While The Blood of Dawnwalker has garnered 8,296 reviews on Steam after passing the million-copy sales mark, another recently released title, Star Wars Zero Company, is also performing well. Star Wars Zero Company, developed by Bit Reactor, has achieved a "Very Positive" rating on Steam with 15,562 reviews just over a week after its release. However, the future for Bit Reactor's staff remains uncertain, with reports indicating that 80% of the team is on furlough pending further investment and sales revenue.

The strong performance of both The Blood of Dawnwalker and Star Wars Zero Company is seen as a positive sign for the industry during a period that has presented challenges.
