An upcoming update, version 1.1, for The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to introduce a new Story mode with enhanced combat assistance, a potion for ability respecification, and the ability to pet in-game dogs and cats. The patch is expected to be released next week.
This update will also feature changes to combat targeting, camera behavior, and traversal. Additionally, it includes a FrameGen update and will remove censorship of blood and gore in the Japanese Steam version of the game. The patch notes indicate over 1,100 other improvements and fixes are included.
Previously, the game's Story difficulty setting will be renamed 'Forgiving' difficulty. A new, distinct Story mode will be added, offering more significant combat support for players seeking a less challenging experience.
The Draught of Mind Rebirth potion will allow players to reset all learned Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities. This enables a respec, providing an opportunity to allocate skill points differently and explore alternative builds.
The patch also addresses technical aspects with an update to FrameGen technology, featuring dedicated settings for the feature. Combat and camera systems have seen adjustments, with improved targeting, locking, and disengagement from enemies. Traversal has also been enhanced for better responsiveness when using abilities like Shadowstep and Planeshift.
The Blood of Dawnwalker was released in early September and received a positive reception, earning a four-star review. Praise was given to its unique time-limiting structure, flexible approach, engaging quests, and characters. The game was noted as a dark fantasy adventure from former CD Projekt Red developers, featuring bold ideas and a successful execution.
