The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 to Add Respecs, Petting, and More

Rebel Wolves is preparing to launch update 1.1 for The Blood of Dawnwalker next week, introducing a host of new features and improvements. Among the most anticipated additions is the Draught of Mind Rebirth, an item that will allow players to reset all acquired skills and abilities across the Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism trees. This feature will enable players to reallocate their points and potentially create new build strategies, while also freeing up time that might have been dedicated to acquiring those skills.

The update also introduces a new Story difficulty setting designed to offer additional combat assist. For those who prefer a more accessible experience, new subtitle settings will be available across all lines of dialogue. Furthermore, players will soon be able to interact with the game's canine and feline companions, with the ability to pet them implemented via the game's directional system, currently utilized for combat.

Beyond these headline features, Update 1.1 will include several system tweaks. These encompass an update to the FrameGen system, enhancements to the camera, improvements to the Shadowstep and Planeshift abilities, and the removal of blood censorship in the Japanese version of the game. Combat targeting is also being refined to make it easier to select specific enemies, addressing a current issue where the direction-based system can prioritize blocking incoming attacks over locking onto a desired foe.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In a review, Phil Hornshaw described the game as an RPG that is "great to get lost in, that digs into your mind and stays there, and which is worth scouring and savoring."
