The Duskbloods, From Software's Switch 2 Exclusive, Delayed to 2027

From Software has announced that its upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, has been delayed to 2027. The studio has not provided a more specific release window within next year.

In a statement, From Software apologized to players awaiting the title and thanked them for their patience. The delay, the studio explained, will allow for further refinement of the game's core concepts, including its combat, strategic depth, and player expression, as well as time for final adjustments to game rules and balancing.

The Duskbloods was notably absent from the September Nintendo Direct presentation, which had previously led to fan speculation regarding its development status. The game's new 2027 release date places it well clear of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, though it is unclear if this was a consideration for From Software or Nintendo.

Interest in The Duskbloods remains high. A From Software employee recently shared that the game's playtest garnered more interest than Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's. The Duskbloods is a multiplayer PvPvE title directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. Early impressions from a hands-on preview by GameSpot's Jake Dekker described the experience as unique, stating "I couldn’t wait to play more."
