Previews for the upcoming title, The Duskbloods, have offered a first glimpse at some of the game's playable characters, with six out of ten slated for launch having been revealed. These characters continue FromSoftware's established pattern of creating memorable and often bizarre personalities.
Among the revealed characters are Albert, described as a conventional vampire, and Bloodhand Jan, who appears to be attending a ritual in sleepwear. Sniper Layla is noted for her apparent edginess, while Trang Lanh is presented as the sole conventionally cool individual in the group. The lineup also includes a figure identified as a senator, raising questions about the game's world-building, and a character simply named Zork, whose inclusion has drawn particular amusement.
FromSoftware has a history of designing distinctive characters, ranging from the memorable figures in Elden Ring like the jar-filled individuals and the turtle pope, to the eccentric cast of Dark Souls 3, including characters like "Pickle Pee" and Patches. Earlier titles, such as King's Field IV and Nightreign, also featured cursed or peculiar individuals. This tendency for unique character design is a hallmark of the studio's output.
The preview of The Duskbloods' characters has generated significant interest, with the character designs being a particular talking point. The upcoming network test will allow players to experience these characters firsthand.
