A potential subtitle for the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls 6, possibly "Sentinel," has been revealed through an intricate Easter egg found in Bethesda's space-faring RPG, Starfield. The clue was discovered by a Reddit user who decoded a sequence of numbers presented as an employee ID during character creation in Starfield. The sequence, "190514-2009140512," when broken into pairs and converted to letters using their position in the alphabet, spells out "SENTINEL." This aligns with speculation that the game's subtitle could be an eight-letter word, as hinted at by Bethesda CEO Asha Sharma, who used eight asterisks to represent the title during a recent internal event. The selection of "Sentinel" is further supported by its historical significance within The Elder Scrolls lore, being the name of a major city on the Iliac Bay and the capital of its surrounding kingdom. This naming convention would echo The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall, which was also named after a city and remains a fan favorite.
The codename "Guardian" has also been associated with The Elder Scrolls 6's development, and "Sentinel" shares a synonymous relationship with "Guardian," strengthening the possibility. Additionally, another potential hint in Starfield was noted by observant players who spotted a scratch on a spaceship console in a trailer, which some believe resembles the shape of the Iliac Bay, an area that appeared in the very first Elder Scrolls game, Arena, under the name Starfall Bay.
