Naughty Dog marked The Last of Us Day 2026 with a series of content reveals, including a crossover with Sucker Punch Productions' Ghost of Tsushima, new player avatars, and an extended ambience video. These additions come as fans continue to express their desire for any official news regarding The Last of Us Part 3.
The most prominent reveal is an armor set for Ghost of Tsushima, inspired by The Last of Us's Clickers. This cosmetic, available starting October 1, will allow players to equip the armor in Ghost of Tsushima's Most Wanted mode. Once unlocked, it can be used in both the base game and its Echoes of Sekigahara DLC.
In addition to the Ghost of Tsushima collaboration, Naughty Dog also partnered with Youtooz for a Bloody Clicker collectible figure. PlayStation users will receive four new themed avatars, with additional avatars available on PC via Steam. The studio also released an hour-long subway ambience video, offering players a chance to revisit the series' signature atmosphere.
To coincide with The Last of Us Day, a sale will commence on October 1 on the Steam and Epic Games Store. This sale will feature a 50% discount on The Last of Us Part 1 and a 33% discount on The Last of Us Part 2.
This year's celebrations arrive more than six years after the release of The Last of Us Part 2. Despite the ongoing success of the franchise, including its critically acclaimed HBO adaptation, Naughty Dog has yet to confirm development on a third installment. The studio previously canceled its ambitious multiplayer spinoff, The Last of Us Online, in December 2023, stating a renewed focus on single-player experiences.
Naughty Dog is also currently developing a new intellectual property, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which was first shown in 2024. While details remain scarce, the studio's focus on this new project, alongside the continued absence of news for The Last of Us Part 3, leaves the future of the beloved post-apocalyptic series uncertain.
Dedicated social media pages for The Last of Us have been established on Instagram, Facebook, and X/Twitter. However, fan anticipation for news about The Last of Us Part 3 remains high, with many hoping for an eventual confirmation of its development.
