Lydia Peckham, known for her role in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, has reportedly joined the cast of the live-action The Legend of Zelda movie. This latest casting announcement follows a series of additions to the Nintendo film project. Details regarding Peckham's specific character in the movie remain undisclosed.
Peckham will star alongside Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who are set to portray Zelda and Link, respectively. The New Zealand actress began her on-screen career in the late 2010s, with appearances in projects such as Only Cloud Knows and Take Home Pay. Her past credits include roles in Apple TV's Mr. Corman and Netflix's live-action Cowboy Bebop series in 2021.
In 2024, Peckham played Soona in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, a film also directed by Wes Ball, who is at the helm of The Legend of Zelda adaptation. Peckham is the fifth new cast member to be announced in recent days.
Previously, Uli Latukefu was revealed to be playing the antagonist Ganondorf. Dichen Lachman is also confirmed to be involved, taking on the role of Impa. Yvonna Strahovki and the late Sam Neill have also been added to the cast; while their roles are not yet public, reports indicate Strahovki will portray a queen character. Filming for The Legend of Zelda movie concluded earlier this year, suggesting that many of these casting decisions were finalized some time ago.
The Legend of Zelda movie is slated for release on April 30, 2027.
