Bo Bragason, who is set to portray Princess Zelda in the upcoming live-action film adaptation, has fueled anticipation for a trailer release with a recent social media update. The actress posted on Instagram, stating she was "excited 4 tomorrow," which fans have interpreted as a potential hint towards new footage or information about the movie.
With the film scheduled to premiere in approximately seven months, Nintendo and distributor Sony have yet to reveal any moving images from the project. While promotional images of Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link have been shared, a teaser trailer remains unreleased. Fans had hoped for a reveal during a recent Zelda-focused Nintendo Direct, but that presentation primarily confirmed the movie's title and revealed it would feature an original story inspired by the franchise, rather than adapting a specific game.
The Legend of Zelda film, announced in 2023, is directed by Wes Ball, known for "Maze Runner" and "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes." Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto is serving as co-producer alongside Marvel veteran Avi Arad. Principal photography took place last winter in New Zealand.
While not officially confirmed, reports suggest Dichen Lachman will play Impa and Uli Latukefu will portray Ganondorf. Other cast members reportedly include Yvonne Strahovski, Lydia Peckham, and the late Sam Neill, whose roles have not yet been disclosed. Deadline previously indicated that one of these cast members would play a "queen" character.
The Legend of Zelda is slated for theatrical release on April 30, 2027.
