Nintendo has unveiled comprehensive details for the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, accompanied by a new trailer, a gameplay demonstration, and a confirmed release date. The announcement also included plans for special amiibo figures and a limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 console.

The amiibo figures, featuring Young Link and Young Zelda from the early stages of Ocarina of Time, are slated for release in 2027. When scanned, these figures will unlock "special in-game masks" for Link, though their impact on gameplay remains unconfirmed.

Arriving much sooner is a special edition of the Nintendo Switch 2 designed to celebrate The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary. This console will feature a custom Zelda-themed dock, the console itself, and Joy-Con controllers. Accompanying these will be a similarly themed Switch 2 Pro Controller and a carrying case. Nintendo stores in New York and San Francisco will offer an exclusive bundle featuring the Switch 2 Pro Controller and a special display stand. These anniversary items are scheduled for release on October 29, exactly one week before the Ocarina of Time remake launches.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is set to be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, with its release scheduled for November. Further details regarding The Legend of Zelda film, which is set to premiere next April, were also touched upon.
