Nintendo has released a brief, 16-second clip showcasing a more extended look at Ganondorf in the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The footage was made available to users with the Nintendo Today! app installed on their mobile devices.
The clip provides an expanded view of the Gerudo villain, described by Nintendo as "a man from the Gerudo, a tribe in which men are said to be born only once in a hundred years." The accompanying text states that Ganondorf "harbors a grand ambition to obtain the Triforce, a sacred relic rumored to grant the wish of any individual who touches it."
This new footage builds upon the dream sequence initially revealed during Nintendo's dedicated Direct presentation earlier this month. It depicts Ganondorf on horseback with a voiceover stating, "And now… An evil has appeared, yearning after that power." While the scene is familiar to long-time fans, the remake introduces subtle changes beyond updated graphics. The extended clip, for instance, plays in slow motion, a departure from the original Nintendo 64 and 3DS versions where Ganondorf moved at normal speed.
These minor alterations suggest that the November release will include several tweaks to the classic experience. This comes as fans remain divided on some of the remake's announced features, such as the inclusion of dedicated jump button and the decision to retain loading screens from the original game.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.
