The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Amazon's streaming exclusive series, is set to receive a 4K Blu-ray release for both of its seasons. These releases are scheduled to arrive in November and December, preceding the premiere of the show's third season.
Customers can preorder standard DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K editions, along with Amazon-exclusive limited-edition 4K steelbooks. The standard DVDs for both seasons are slated for release on November 3, while the limited-edition steelbooks will begin shipping on December 1. Prices range from $39.99 for the standard DVD to $61.99 for the 4K steelbook.
Season 1's standard DVD features cover art with much of the main cast, focusing on Galadriel against a white background. The limited-edition 4K steelbook for Season 1 comes in a gold slipcase, displaying an image of Galadriel on the front and the Great Tree on the back. It also includes six collectible art cards with character portraits. Bonus features for Season 1 include "The Making of The Rings of Power (Episodes 1-8)", "Stores of the Second Age", and a "Trailer Gallery".
Season 2's Blu-ray cover art shifts focus from Galadriel to Sauron, with a darker, black background. The corresponding 4K steelbook features a black slipcase with a still of Sauron, and the back of the slipcase shows a forge. This edition also includes six more collectible art cards, this time with action-oriented poses. Bonus features for Season 2 include "Season 1 Recap", "Inside Episodes 1-8", and a "Trailer Gallery".
The Rings of Power is confirmed to return for its third season on November 11, 2026. Amazon has stated that the new season will begin with a "Fellowship-style" prologue. While this season will also stream exclusively on Prime Video, a 4K Blu-ray release is expected at a later date.
