The cinematic continuation of the beloved Disney Plus series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, will be available for home viewing starting July 21 with a digital release across major platforms. A 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release is slated for August 25, accompanied by a SteelBook version and a premium "Beskar Collector's Edition."

The Beskar Collector's Edition will feature exclusive packaging, a SteelBook case, metal posters, and both 4K UHD and Blu-ray discs, along with a digital code. The standalone SteelBook edition will also include the film on 4K UHD and Blu-ray discs with a digital code.

Special features for the home release will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the film's creation. "Crafting The Mandalorian and Grogu" will delve into the artistry behind the puppetry, miniatures, sound design, and visual effects. "Biomes—From Snow to Swamp" will follow director Jon Favreau and his crew as they develop new environments, exploring the construction of snowy landscapes and a living swamp. "Welcome to Shakari" details the fabrication process for the film's bustling city, while "Dejarik for Real" showcases the creation of the creatures featured in the game sequence. An audio commentary with director Jon Favreau will also be included.

The Mandalorian and Grogu premiered in theaters on May 22, marking Star Wars' return to the big screen since 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Despite its theatrical debut, the film's performance at the box office did not meet expectations. Polygon's review noted that the film seemed targeted at a new generation, with a focus on Grogu's appeal and occasional nods to existing Star Wars lore rather than deep canonical engagement, suggesting its existence as a "Star Wars Movie" was questionable.
