The New York Video Game Critics Circle (NYVGCC) has announced that The New York Game Awards will return for its 16th show on January 19, 2027, at the SVA Theatre in Manhattan. IGN will stream the event on its website and YouTube channels.
Gaming and tech content creator Lara Lunardi and TV personality Arda Ocal will host the 2027 ceremony. NYVGCC co-founder and president Harold Goldberg, former Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aimé, and NYVGCC executive director Ryan O'Callaghan are also expected to attend.
Tickets for the in-person event are available for purchase for $85 through Humanitix. A limited number of $100 VIP tickets will offer preferred seating and access to an after-party presented by New Blood Interactive.
Proceeds from the New York Game Awards benefit the NYVGCC's "Playing with Purpose" writing program, which provides journalism and game narrative writing classes and workshops to schools and shelters across New York City.
"The New York Game Awards is our way of paying homage to our New York roots while recognizing the heart and soul of our industry by spotlighting game studios of all sizes," Goldberg stated. "We have a really great lineup this year, and we’re incredibly grateful to have Lara and Arda join us to host our awards show. We know their energy will bring a great dynamic to our yearly festivities."
Further details regarding the upcoming awards show, including the recipient of the Andrew Yoon Legend Award and information about a surprise musical performance, will be announced at a later date.
