Prime Video has unveiled a new trailer for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, offering a glimpse into the escalating war against Sauron and his pursuit of the One Ring. The trailer reveals significant plot points, including Sauron's eventual donning of the One Ring and a confrontation with a Balrog.
The third season is set to pick up several years after the events of Season 2, plunging viewers into the height of the War of the Elves. The footage teases the appearance of the Nazgnagôl, a Mûmakil, and fell beasts, culminating in Sauron claiming the One Ring, which he intends to use to bind the peoples of Middle-earth to his will.
"I see the path to victory so certain," Sauron declares in the trailer. "I will take my place as a conqueror, a sorcerer. A king. We have work to do." These lines accompany scenes of a Nazgnagôl overpowering Galadriel and Sauron seemingly influencing her dreams.
Evidence also suggests a battle between Sauron and a Balrog, with the trailer featuring a fiery confrontation. It was previously revealed that Simon Pegg voices the Balrog in the series.
Following Celebrimbor's death in the Season 2 finale, Sauron continues his quest to forge the One Ring to dominate Middle-earth. Season 3 appears poised to depict the Dark Lord achieving a significant victory in his overarching plan.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on November 11. Previous reports have detailed a new orc character with a unique arc and confirmed that the Harfoots will not be featured in Season 3.
