The RPS Team's Weekend Gaming Plans: From Mice to Monasteries

The Rock Paper Shotgun team is looking forward to a weekend filled with diverse gaming experiences, from the cozy rhythms of building simulators to the soul-crushing depths of gothic adventures. However, for one staffer, the most startling encounter wasn't virtual.

An Unexpected Encounter

For RPS's Julian, the week culminated in a surprising real-world fright. While returning home on Thursday evening, a mouse descended the stairs, startling him as he entered his flat. This unexpected encounter, while unsettling, has prompted a thorough search of his home for any further unwanted guests. Beyond mouse patrol, Julian also plans to tackle the final stages of DIY projects, including fitting alcove bookcases and painting the living room. In gaming, he's been exploring Titanium Court, finding it witty with excellent presentation but feeling somewhat detached from its world. He also intends to avoid getting too involved with 'Moon Sweepers'.

Team Gaming Plans

Ollie is maintaining a steady pace with the latest Trackmania campaign and Factorio, both shared with his brother. He also hopes to find time for Queen's Domain if personal time allows.

Jeremy continues his extensive walkthrough of Castlevania, a process he describes as chipping away at his soul. In keeping with the Halloween spirit, he plans to observe an annual tradition: watching an old game playthrough on YouTube while distributing sweets to trick-or-treaters. This year's selection is the 1994 SNES title Nosferatu.

James's attempts to play Mortal Shell 2 have been repeatedly interrupted by work, social commitments, brownie baking, and sessions of Deep Rock Galactic.

Edwin anticipates limited gaming time due to assisting with a house move. Despite this, he aims to make progress in Queen's Domain and try Danchi Days, a narrative game centered on reviving a summer festival in a Japanese neighborhood.

Mark intends to finish Virtue and a Sledgehammer, a game he has found to be emotionally resonant and haunting, drawing parallels to Deconstructeam's previous title, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood.

And you, dear reader, what games will be occupying your weekend?
