Fortnite is set to welcome back The Simpsons for a new in-game event launching on July 30. This collaboration introduces Springfield as a map within the Fortnite Reload mode, featuring updated content and returning fan-favorite items.
Last year's successful crossover event showcased an explorable, cel-shaded version of Springfield. The upcoming Fortnite Reload iteration will bring back popular loot items such as the Mr. Blasty gun, Krusty Burger, Blinky Fish, Super Squishee, and the Cartoon Chainsaw. The Reload map format also allows for re-lootable chests and solo player reboots.
New additions to the event include the Tactical Assault Rifle. Promo art for the event highlights Homer, Moe the bartender, and a Fortnite-inspired version of John Wick. Players will be able to find a John Wick Sprite within Springfield. A new area on the map, "The Confidential Simpson's location," is also being added, tying into the John Wick theme.
This Simpsons event follows a recent DC Comics collaboration, "Hot Bat Summer," which featured swimsuit skins of Catwoman, Batman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy. Additionally, a Fortnite collaboration with the Spider-Man "Brand New Day" comic series is planned, promising new movie-themed skins and the return of Web-Shooters.
