The forthcoming expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, titled 'Songs of the Past', is set to introduce at least one new romanceable character for Geralt of Rivia. The expansion, scheduled for release in 2027, will transport players to Letten, a northern region of the continent.

In the expansion, Geralt will encounter Dandelion's cousin, Lilla. During a gameplay demonstration, Geralt accompanied Lilla on a scouting mission. A moment in the demo showed Geralt assisting Lilla after she stumbled, with dialogue options appearing that included a choice to hug her. When questioned about potential romance options for Lilla, Fool's Theory CEO Jakub Rokosz responded enigmatically, suggesting players should discover these elements themselves.

Adding to the speculation, Carolin Wendt, CDPR's expert content creator strategist, stated during a livestream that the developer is aware of player demand for more romance options and confirmed that Geralt will have "more romance for Geralt. He deserves it." This statement, combined with the hints in the gameplay demo, suggests that Lilla is intended to be a romantic interest for Geralt.

The story for 'Songs of the Past' was written years ago, though the expansion itself is launching 11 years after the original release of The Witcher 3. The expansion's narrative will involve Dandelion returning to his ancestral home in Letten due to family matters. The exact release date beyond 2027 has not been specified.
