CD Projekt Red has partnered with HalkHogan, the creator behind the highly popular The Witcher 3 HD Rework Project (HDRP) mod, to enhance the visuals of the newly announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered. The collaboration means that players will no longer need to download HalkHogan's mod separately, as their work will be officially integrated into the game.

HalkHogan confirmed their involvement in an update on their Nexus Mods page, stating that their contributions will be available in the game on September 29th for PC and consoles. According to the modder, nearly all in-game characters, monsters, animals, vegetation, armor, and equipment for Geralt and Roach have been reworked, alongside a significant portion of the game's environments. They emphasized the extensive effort put into ensuring a high level of quality for these visual enhancements.

The Witcher 3 Remastered was revealed at gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 and is slated for release on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on September 29, 2026. This remaster aims to refresh the 2015 RPG with updated visuals.

In addition to the remaster news, gamescom ONL 2026 also featured a first look at the surprise expansion for The Witcher 3, titled Songs of the Past. This follows critically acclaimed previous DLC releases such as Blood & Wine.

Further news regarding The Witcher franchise includes a quiet price increase for the base game and player excitement for additional Gwent content.
