CD Projekt Red has released patch 5.01 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition, bringing further improvements and addressing player feedback following the game's recent remaster. The update, weighing in at approximately 5.5 GB on consoles and 8.5 GB on PC, introduces a much-requested bloom toggle for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players, allowing them to disable the visual effect that some found contributed to a washed-out appearance.
Console players now have additional visual customization options, with the ability to adjust Light Shafts and Depth of Field. A bug that caused these custom settings to reset on PS5 has also been resolved. Furthermore, the patch addresses an audio issue on consoles where voiceover dialogue could become significantly quieter than other in-game audio after navigating the pause menu. This fix ensures that dialogue remains at a consistent volume, a change one player described as "major" and a significant improvement over having to manually adjust sound systems.
CD Projekt Red has indicated that it is continuing to gather bug reports and player feedback. This latest patch is part of an ongoing effort to refine the remastered version of the game, with a further DLC expansion, "Songs of the Past," expected next year.
