The recently released remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is experiencing significant graphical issues for players utilizing AMD Radeon graphics cards. Reports emerging on platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) detail a range of visual artifacts, including missing environmental trees and distracting black glitches.
One widely shared issue involves foliage appearing inverted or as if viewed through a negative filter in areas such as White Orchard. Another visual anomaly, captured outside Novigrad, demonstrates the water surface flickering like a strobe light. The common denominator across these reported problems is the use of AMD Radeon GPUs.
CD Projekt Red has acknowledged the issues and advised players to update their graphics drivers to a supported version. However, the required driver, Adrenalin 26.9.2, has not yet been released. The most recent available driver for Radeon cards, Adrenalin 26.8.1, was issued on August 20.
At present, the most viable solution for affected players is to await the release of the new AMD driver. The circumstances leading to the release of the game without full compatibility on existing AMD drivers remain unclear, though it's possible the driver's release was delayed. Attempts to solicit comments from both AMD and CD Projekt Red are ongoing.
Despite these temporary technical setbacks on AMD hardware, the remastered edition of The Witcher 3 introduces numerous gameplay and graphical enhancements designed to bring the title up to modern standards. Achieving the highest graphical settings, particularly with path tracing enabled, will require a high-end gaming PC.
