The Witcher 3 Remastered Receives Multiple Patches, Bloom Lighting Fix Forthcoming

CD Projekt Red is actively addressing issues with the recently released remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with multiple hotfixes deployed in the game's launch week. The developer has also indicated that a fix for the game's bloom lighting is in development.

One of the initial hotfixes targeted PC versions, resolving a bug that prevented DLSS from being accessible in the Xbox Play Anywhere version. This update also included adjustments to make in-game interiors less dark and to generally tweak the lighting, ensuring parity between console and PC versions. A second hotfix, approximately 5GB in size, further addressed several PC-specific problems, including a voiceover issue and a save file error.

Community director Marcin Momot confirmed that additional updates are planned, including a fix for the bloom lighting setting. Many players have been disabling this setting to mitigate a "washed out" appearance in the game's visuals. Momot stated that the team is aiming to implement these changes in the next update, with more details to be shared soon. A fix for a sound issue affecting consoles is also reportedly in the works.

The graphical overhaul in the remaster, which includes new path tracing technology, has been a point of discussion among players. Some of the visual discrepancies may stem from differing player preferences regarding lighting and color contrast, while others are attributed to the current implementation of the remaster's technical features. CD Projekt Red's ongoing patches aim to refine these aspects of the updated experience.
