The Witcher 3 Remastered has achieved a new peak of 114,696 concurrent players on Steam, surpassing its previous record set in January 2020. This surge represents a 258% increase from last month's player count of 31,959.
The previous record of 103,329 concurrent players was set when the Witcher TV series debuted. The new numbers, however, only account for Steam users, with additional players likely engaging with the remaster on other platforms such as Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC storefronts like GoG and Battle.net.
This recent success is attributed to the free update for existing owners of The Witcher 3, lowering the barrier to entry for many players. While initial reports indicated issues with the remaster on AMD graphics cards, these have reportedly been resolved through a driver update.
CD Projekt Red has implemented numerous improvements in the remaster, enhancing graphics and even animations. The game now supports path tracing, though this feature demands a high-end gaming PC. To assist players, IGN has compiled resources including a walkthrough, guides to endings, romance options, and locations for Witcher gear, Places of Power, and Gwent cards.
