The Witcher 3 Remastered Switch 2 Patch Is 'On the Way,' CD Projekt Red Confirms

Players awaiting the remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the Nintendo Switch 2 will not have to wait much longer, as CD Projekt Red has confirmed that a dedicated patch is officially on its way. This update aims to bring the Switch 2 version in line with PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, which have already received significant improvements.

Following the release of the free remastered update on September 29, CD Projekt Red issued patch 5.01 on October 9. This patch introduced crucial fixes, including enhanced performance and adjustments to the bloom effect, alongside new visual customization options. However, this update was initially exclusive to PC and current-generation consoles, leaving Switch 2 players without these enhancements. CD Projekt Red acknowledged this in the patch notes, stating that a Switch 2 patch was in development and that more information would be shared soon.

A subsequent hotfix, deployed on October 13, further improved stability and gameplay for PlayStation 5 users. This prioritization of other platforms led to increased frustration among Switch 2 players, particularly as the game's player count on the platform has grown due to a cartridge duplication exploit. In response to the community's concerns, CD Projekt Red provided reassurance on social media, confirming that the update is "on the way" and that "more information for those playing on Nintendo Switch 2 [is coming] very soon."

This forthcoming Switch 2 patch is expected to incorporate all the improvements rolled out to other platforms. Additionally, it will address specific Switch 2 issues related to image clarity and sharpness, ensuring that all players can experience The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered with the intended visual fidelity and performance. The developer's commitment to parity for all platforms has been a key aspect of this significant free update to the acclaimed title.
