Milan Records has released a five-track EP of new original music from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's upcoming Songs of the Past expansion. Titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past (Original Soundtrack Gamescom 2026 EP), this release provides the first taste of the downloadable content's soundtrack, featuring compositions by Magda Urbanska, Marcin Pryzbylowicz, and Daniel Elms.
Magda Urbanska described her approach to the music, stating, "I’ve worked with classical music for most of my life. But folk requires a completely different sensibility — it has its own tone and form, while also offering enormous creative freedom. But our roots, our Slavic heritage, are something more than that — something that runs deep within us, something that grows out of who we are. I hope we’ve managed to preserve The Witcher DNA in these pieces."
Publisher Milan Records characterized the new music as created "to accompany Geralt of Rivia's return to the Path." They further explained that the soundtrack "expands upon the rich musical identity that has made The Witcher franchise a global phenomenon. Blending evocative orchestral writing with traditional folk influences, powerful vocal performances, and regional instrumentation inspired by the world's diverse cultures, the score captures both the intimacy and grandeur of a new chapter in Geralt's story."
The EP's tracklist includes:
- Return to the Path – Magda Urbańska
- Awoken – Magda Urbańska
- Into Darkness – Daniel Elms
- What’s Done – Marcin Przybyłowicz
- Belleteyn Night – Magda Urbańska
Songs of the Past marks a significant return for new content for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The expansion was announced earlier this year, though rumors had been circulating about new content. The game will be 12 years old by the time Songs of the Past is released next year, and this expansion is the first for the title in over a decade. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was originally named IGN's Game of the Year in 2015.
