The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered System Requirements Revealed

CD Projekt has released the full PC system requirements for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, a free upgrade for the fantasy action-RPG. The specifications cover minimum, recommended, ultra, ray-tracing minimum, ray-tracing recommended, and path tracing configurations.

The Remastered edition is set to launch soon. The requirements detail the hardware necessary to experience the game with its enhanced graphical features, including sophisticated lighting techniques like ray-tracing and path-tracing.

CD Projekt provided further details on their benchmarking methodology in a blog post, cautioning that "occasional frame rate fluctuations may occur depending on the scene and gameplay." The developer also highlighted a new requirement for SSDs and noted a shift in operating system support. While the game will not cease to function on Windows 10 with the next update, CD Projekt states they no longer develop or test on this system and cannot guarantee future compatibility or performance. Support will be limited to components receiving official manufacturer updates.

Early previews of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered and its forthcoming Songs of the Past expansion have drawn attention to improvements in combat animations, camerawork, enemy AI, and ledge climbing. However, reactions from some players regarding side-by-side visual comparisons have been mixed. For those who prefer to avoid the enhanced version, CD Projekt confirmed that it will be possible to revert to an earlier version of the game, specifically version 1.32 (Classic) or the previous next-gen update, version 4.04, depending on the platform.

The Songs of the Past expansion is slated for a 2027 release, preceding The Witcher 4, which is targeted for 2028. Some players feel that the original Blood and Wine expansion already provides a definitive ending for Geralt's story.
