Bigby Wolf is returning to Fabletown. Telltale Games has announced that The Wolf Among Us Remastered will be released on October 29, 2026. This updated version of the beloved narrative adventure game promises enhanced visuals, improved lighting, and updated animations.
Originally released in episodes between 2013 and 2014, The Wolf Among Us is based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic series. The game puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown, a hidden community in New York City for exiled fairy-tale characters. As Bigby, players investigate a series of murders, navigating a gritty world filled with supernatural intrigue and morally complex characters.
The remastered edition will include all five original episodes. Telltale has focused on modernizing the presentation while maintaining the game's signature comic-book aesthetic. The update features more detailed character models and environments, alongside improved lighting effects.
A notable addition is the new Noir Mode, which allows players to experience the entire game in black and white, transforming the game into a classic detective thriller. Players can switch between this monochromatic view and the remastered visuals at any time, offering a fresh perspective on Fabletown's dark and mysterious atmosphere.
The game is celebrated for its strong writing, memorable characters like Bigby and Snow White, and difficult player choices. The narrative features significant plot twists and engaging dialogue, hallmarks of Telltale's storytelling approach.
Beyond the visual and presentation upgrades, The Wolf Among Us Remastered will include over an hour of bonus content. This extra material features developer commentary, interviews with the cast, concept art, and deleted scenes, providing fans with a deeper look into the game's creation.
This remastered release also serves as a prelude to the highly anticipated sequel, The Wolf Among Us 2, which is slated for release in 2027. The sequel has faced a protracted development cycle but resurfaced with a new trailer and a confirmed release window earlier this year.
The Wolf Among Us Remastered will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Physical editions are expected to arrive later in the holiday season.
