The world of Thief is expanding beyond a forthcoming remaster, with new details emerging about an officially licensed graphic novel and an original soundtrack. Titled 'Thief: Pulse of Promise,' the graphic novel is being developed by Bit Bot Media in collaboration with Eidos-Montreal.

The story of 'Pulse of Promise' is set between the events of the original 'Thief: The Dark Project' and 'Thief 2: The Metal Age,' suggesting a return to the adventures of the original Garrett rather than the protagonist from the 2014 reboot. The cover art also reportedly evokes the aesthetic of the first two games.

The graphic novel project is currently being crowdfunded via BackerKit. The campaign also includes plans for merchandise such as a statue, replicas, clothing, and a plush toy. Notably, the soundtrack will feature new work by Celldweller and include a performance by Stephen Russell, the original voice actor for Garrett.

While release details for 'Pulse of Promise' are not yet available, its placement between the first two games suggests a potential launch following the previously announced remaster of 'Thief: The Dark Project.' This remaster, handled by Nightdive Studios, is expected to bring upgraded visuals, support for 4K resolution and 120 FPS, and a variety of behind-the-scenes content. Exciting additions for players include a level-select mode and support for custom campaigns, allowing access to popular fan missions.

This surge of new content follows the recent appearance of 'Thick as Thieves,' a new stealth game from several original Thief creators, which offers a contemporary take on the genre though with a streamlined premise compared to its predecessors.
