Thief Sequel Announced, Set Between First Two Games

Thirty years after the original release of Thief: The Dark Project, the series is getting a new story with the announcement of Thief: Pulse of Promise. This officially licensed graphic novel from Bit Bot is set to explore Garrett's adventures between the events of the first game and its 2000 sequel, Thief II: The Metal Age. Polygon has provided an exclusive first look at pages from the graphic novel, which is now live on BackerKit.

Written by Joshua Viola and Sean Eads, *Pulse of Promise* delves into forgotten Keeper secrets and the mysterious fate of a young boy, drawing familiar faces like Artemus and Father Karras back into the narrative. The art is handled by Emanuele Ercolani and Gianluca Papi, with lettering by Jeremiah Lambert. Bit Bot has collaborated with Eidos-Montréal to ensure the story remains consistent with the established lore and timeline of Garrett's era. ![Thief_page06_edit-01](https://static0.polygonimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/thief_page06_edit-01.jpg?q=70&fit=crop&w=1300&dpr=1 ")

Additional merchandise includes a Garrett statue, plush toys, art prints, apparel, and a replica of Garrett's mechanical eye.
