Eclipse Glow Games, a studio founded just two years ago by veterans of franchises such as Assassin's Creed, For Honor, Persona, and Yakuza, is set to release its debut title, Tides of Annihilation. Senior Associate Editor Wesley LeBlanc recently experienced approximately two hours of the upcoming character action game during a hands-on session in Chengdu, China. The game, centered on protagonist Gwendolyn's time-spanning adventure, features a unique premise where Arthurian legend intrudes upon modern-day London.

The primary setting is a version of modern London, most notably represented by the Great Russell Museum. This locale serves as a hub for Gwendolyn's quest for a Holy Grail Shard. The game's environments dynamically shift and draw inspiration from various exhibits within the museum, including Egyptian, Japanese, and Chinese displays. This transformation extends to the enemies encountered and the musical score, creating a culturally diverse and visually intriguing experience.

Players can witness the game's fast-paced, high-spectacle action and explore its mechanics through newly released gameplay footage. This nearly 20-minute segment breaks down boss fights, the distinct knight-based combat system, and the King Arthur-inspired characters. The developers' pedigree is evident in the polished presentation and ambitious scope of the action sequences observed during the preview.
