Streamer TimTheTatman recently disclosed that he declined a lucrative six-figure offer to stream the game Arc Raiders. During a broadcast on September 2, TheTatman explained that the proposed deal, which would have required him to play the game for four hours, was substantial enough that most would consider it an "eye-watering amount of money." However, his negative experience with Arc Raiders led him to refuse the sponsorship.
"For me, the game frustrated me so much that I don't want to play it ever again," TheTatman stated. He added that the frustration was so profound that "even six figures didn't get me back on it." While he humorously suggested a seven-figure deal might change his mind, he maintained that he has no desire to revisit the game.
Arc Raiders, once a notable release, has seen a decline in popularity. The game launched in late 2025 amidst strong competition from titles like Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Despite this, it initially garnered a dedicated player base, peaking at 465,000 concurrent players on Steam in December 2025. However, player interest waned due to perceived content droughts and a lack of significant updates.
Embark Studios, the developer, announced that Arc Raiders would receive only two major updates annually moving forward. The studio also recently postponed future in-game "expeditions" until 2027. This reduced content pipeline has reportedly led to a decline in player engagement, a sentiment that appears to be influencing content creators' willingness to promote the game, even for significant financial compensation.
