The Ukiyo Game Bar in Tokyo has introduced a unique attraction allowing patrons to play a real-life version of the viral indie game Buckshot Roulette. Reservations for the experience are available until November 9, 2026.
While not an actual dangerous game, the bar's recreation features hosts dressed as the game's dealer, complete with a prop shotgun, as players gather around a table. The experience aims to capture the suspenseful atmosphere of the game, which involves using items to gain an advantage and survive against an opponent.
In addition to the Buckshot Roulette setup, the Ukiyo Game Bar is also serving themed cocktails. One notable drink is the "Arctic Eggs" cocktail, created in collaboration with the game's developer, The Water Museum. This cocktail features a unique gummy in the shape of a fried egg, with the gummies reportedly sourced from the United States due to their unavailability in Japan.
Photos and videos of the real-life Buckshot Roulette experience have circulated widely on social media, generating significant interest. The game itself, Buckshot Roulette, places players in a high-stakes scenario using a shotgun. Success relies on strategy and the use of various in-game items to manipulate the odds, with the ultimate goal of survival and winning a cash prize. The game also features a multiplayer mode.
Buckshot Roulette is published by Critical Reflex, known for other indie titles such as Mouthwashing, No, I’m not a Human, and Arctic Eggs. Notably, these three games were recently announced for Xbox during the 2026 ID@Xbox showcase.
