Tom Holland, known for his role as Spider-Man, has shared that his favorite video game is Naughty Dog's critically acclaimed title, The Last of Us Part 2. Despite his enthusiasm for the game, Holland stated he has not yet watched the HBO television adaptation of the series.

During an interview, Holland explained his decision to avoid the show, citing his profound appreciation for the source material. "I have not watched the series because I love the game so much," he said. "I don't play video games all that much, and the game is just so good."

While the first season of The Last of Us was met with widespread praise from both critics and audiences, the second season has proven more divisive. The game itself also faced controversy among its fanbase due to certain narrative choices, particularly concerning the characters Joel and Abby. The television series, on the other hand, has drawn criticism for what some perceive as a rushed pace and a deviation from Ellie's characterization, making her appear less hardened by revenge and violence than in the game.

The third season of The Last of Us is currently in production and is expected to be the show's final installment, with a potential premiere in 2027. Series co-creator Neil Druckmann, who was previously involved in the TV show's development, has stepped away from season three to focus on his next video game project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Though Holland claims he is not a frequent gamer, he expressed respect for the medium. He is also a notable fan of Insomniac's Spider-Man video games, noting that elements from these titles influenced the development of the film Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
