Creative Assembly has launched "Lords of the End Times," the latest and largest expansion for its grand strategy title, Total War: WARHAMMER III. This expansion introduces four new Legendary Lords to the Immortal Empires sandbox, alongside significant new units and features inspired by the cataclysmic events of Warhammer Fantasy's "End Times."
Immortal Empires, the ultimate campaign experience for the Total War: WARHAMMER trilogy, combines content from all three games into a single, massive map. For newcomers, this expansion offers a unique entry point: purchasing any part of "Lords of the End Times" grants access to Immortal Empires, even without owning any of the base games.
The "Lords of the End Times" DLC is available as a discounted bundle or as individual purchases. The expansion is also accompanied by a major free update for all Total War: WARHAMMER III players.
New Legendary Lords
The expansion introduces four new Legendary Lords, each with distinct campaign mechanics, playstyles, and unit rosters.
Nagash, the Supreme Lord of the Undead, aims to transform the world into his domain. As a powerful spellcaster, he can recruit units from across various undead factions, offering strategic flexibility.
Thanquol, the Skaven's ambitious mastermind, rides into battle with his Rat Ogre bodyguard, Boneripper. His campaign focuses on deception, sabotage, and overwhelming enemies with Skaven armies, alongside his "Masterplans" mechanic.
The Glottkin, a trio of corrupted siblings, spread disease and decay. Otto and Ethrac fight atop their colossal Chaos Spawn brother, Ghurk, combining physical and magical prowess. Their campaign mechanics revolve around corrupting conquered lands and utilizing plague and attrition.
Boris Todbringer, Elector Count of Middenland and a renowned warrior, leads from the front with his sword Legbiter. Players commanding Boris can recruit units from across the Empire, including new Middenland units and followers of the wolf god Ulric.
Free Update Additions
Accompanying the paid expansion is a substantial free update. This update includes Neferata, the Vampire Queen, as a new Legendary Lord. Neferata, available for free to owners of Nagash or Vampire Counts-related content, manipulates factions from the shadows using vampire covens.
Players can also expect major updates for the Vampire Counts and Archaon the Everchosen. The free update also adds three new end-game scenarios based on infamous Warhammer apocalyptic events, updated victory conditions for legacy Legendary Lords, and numerous other improvements for all players.
