Skybound is relaunching the iconic dinosaur hunter Turok in 2027 with a new creator-focused imprint called Skybound Visions. The imprint's debut slate was announced at NYCC and also includes new entries in the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises.
Skybound Visions aims to provide standalone stories where creators can offer fresh perspectives on established characters. The Turok: Son of Stone comic will be written by Stephen Graham Jones, known for "The Buffalo Hunter," and illustrated by Leandro Fernández from "The Old Guard."
"Visions is all about surprising creators, surprising characters, and surprising storytelling," said Sean Mackiewicz, SVP, Skybound. The imprint is set to feature more titles in 2027 and beyond.
Inaugural Skybound Visions Titles
The slate kicks off with "Transformers: Bumblebee - Lost Planet," by writers Tate Brombal and Matt Emmons, releasing January 27, 2027. The story follows Bumblebee stranded on an uncharted planet and facing a dangerous Decepticon.
Next is "G.I. Joe: The Island of Dr. Mindbender," by writer-artist Karl Kerschl and artist Doug Mahnke, due out February 2, 2027. In this series, Codename: Flint leads a team of recruits to an isolated island compound controlled by a mad scientist.
Finally, "Turok: Son of Stone" is scheduled for March 10, 2027, with Stephen Graham Jones and Leandro Fernández. The comic sees Turok fall through history into a valley where different eras collide, forcing him to survive against prehistoric threats while seeking a way back to his own time.
Preorders for all three Skybound Visions titles are available at local comic shops.
