Ubisoft has launched a new program that provides PC versions of 13 of its games to players who have purchased digital copies on Xbox consoles. This initiative, detailed on Xbox Wire, aims to extend the reach of these titles to PC without requiring additional purchases for eligible owners.
The program, dubbed 'Xbox console-to-PC', includes a range of popular Ubisoft titles. Among the games now eligible for this cross-platform benefit are Assassin's Creed Mirage, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs Legion.
Starting immediately, any new digital purchase of these 13 games on Xbox will grant the buyer both the Xbox version and the corresponding "Xbox on PC" version. For players who already own digital copies of these titles on Xbox, the PC versions will become available through a progressive rollout beginning August 4. Xbox has indicated this rollout will be gradual.
While this program offers a convenient way to access PC versions, there are specific conditions. In-game currencies and consumables purchased on the Xbox version will not transfer to the PC version. However, games that support cross-progression will allow players to retain any in-game progress made on the Xbox edition when playing on PC. It is important to note that this is a one-way benefit; purchasing a PC version of these games will not grant the owner an Xbox copy.
To access the PC versions of these games, players will need to ensure they have the latest version of Ubisoft Connect installed, which can be downloaded from Ubisoft's official website. This integration ensures a streamlined experience for players transitioning between platforms.
