Ubisoft is providing Xbox owners with free PC access to a selection of its games. This initiative, stemming from an expanded partnership between Ubisoft and Xbox, allows players who own specific titles on Xbox to receive digital PC copies via Ubisoft Connect. The offer is valid for games purchased and linked by August 4th.

Games included in this promotion are Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. These titles should automatically appear in linked Ubisoft Connect libraries within a week.

This benefit applies automatically if players purchase these games on Xbox after linking their accounts. However, the promotion does not extend in reverse; buying a game on PC will not grant a free Xbox copy. The program is particularly advantageous for players transitioning from console gaming to PC.

Beyond this offer, Ubisoft has also made premium editions of various games, including Assassin's Creed Shadows, available through Xbox's PC app. This move aligns with Xbox's recent focus on PC integration, which includes making select original Xbox titles backward-compatible on PC. Rumors suggest Microsoft is exploring features to digitize physical game libraries, potentially in preparation for the next Xbox console generation, which is expected to adopt a more PC-like architecture. This current trend of cross-platform accessibility may indicate a broader strategy to unify the gaming experience across console and PC for future hardware.
