Ubisoft Shuts Down Rainbow Six Mobile Less Than a Year After Full Launch

Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Mobile will cease operations on January 16, 2027, marking a lifespan of less than one year for the game in its full release state. The title soft-launched in 2023 before a wider rollout in February 2026.

In a statement, the development team expressed pride in their work and gratitude to the player community. "One of the greatest parts of this adventure has been getting to experience it alongside you. We've loved seeing the memes, videos, strategies, tournaments, impossible plays, and all the countless moments that happened because you were here," the developers said. The team will transition to "other long-term strategic projects" at Ubisoft, though specifics were not disclosed. Further details regarding the game's final days will be shared by the studio in the coming weeks.

Rainbow Six Mobile was conceived as a mobile adaptation of the highly successful Rainbow Six Siege. This closure follows a challenging period for Ubisoft, which has seen restructuring, layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations as part of a partnership with Tencent.
