Upcoming Tactics Game 'Australia Did It' Officially Renamed with Hilarious Subtitle

The upcoming tactics game previously known as Australia Did It has officially received a new, significantly longer, and humorously descriptive subtitle. Designer Rami Ismail revealed that the game will now be called Australia Did It: End-of-the-World Railway Defense Business. This change stems from a suggestion made during a localization report, which proposed the subtitle after noting the original title might not work in certain territories. Ismail had previously shared the localization note and solicited fan support to adopt the full title globally.

The expanded name was confirmed alongside the announcement of the game's release date. Australia Did It: End-of-the-World Railway Defense Business is set to launch on Steam on November 10. A demo for the game is currently available, offering players a preview of its genre-blending gameplay. The game combines elements of tower defense, where players defend a base, with a unit management component focused on protecting a moving train. A notable mechanic highlighted is the ability to combine distinct units to create new ones with merged abilities, alongside strategic manipulation of enemy and unit positioning.

The original, shorter title had proven memorable, sticking in players' minds since its initial reveal. However, the developer opted to embrace the full, hyphenated subtitle, which aims for a precise and somewhat sarcastic tone. The full title, Australia Did It: End-of-the-World Railway Defense Business, will accompany the game upon its release next month.
