Tickets are now available for the 20th anniversary theatrical re-release of V for Vendetta, set to return to cinemas nationwide on November 1 and 5, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer for the special engagement.
The trailer features a reimagining of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture by Jonathan Snipes of the experimental hip-hop group clipping. The film, based on the DC Vertigo graphic novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd, was directed by James McTeigue and produced by the Wachowskis.
Set in a futuristic totalitarian Britain, the 2004 film stars Natalie Portman as Evey, a young woman who encounters the masked freedom fighter known as V, portrayed by Hugo Weaving. The cast also includes Stephen Rea and John Hurt.
The 20th-anniversary screenings will include an exclusive featurette titled Freedom Forever, in which director McTeigue discusses the making of the film and its enduring relevance. "The award-winning V for Vendetta graphic novel led to one of the most provocative films in the early 2000s," said Shannah Miller, Vice President of Marketing at Fathom Entertainment. "Twenty years later, V for Vendetta still asks the questions that matter: about freedom, identity, and who gets to speak up. Fathom is thrilled to bring this great movie back to theatres, featuring an exclusive new conversation with director James McTeigue for a whole new generation of audiences."
V for Vendetta has previously been recognized on IGN lists, including those for the best R-rated superhero movies, the best superhero movies, and the darkest superhero movies ever made.
