Vaewolf, an action game set to launch in early 2027, has revealed its narrative focus and combat mechanics in a new story trailer. The game, showcased during the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, centers on an elf protagonist who is both part werewolf and part vampire, embarking on a quest for vengeance.
The trailer details the tragic events that set the protagonist on a violent path, beginning with the destruction of their village by werewolves. As the sole survivor, they gain the ability to transform into a powerful werewolf form, enabling them to decimate enemies.
The game promises fluid switching between the protagonist's various forms, including their standard elf state, a werewolf form, and a vampire form. In their elf form, players can utilize ranged attacks, such as a shotgun-like multi-arrow shot. The interplay between these forms is designed to facilitate brutal combos and a dynamic combat experience. The game's aesthetic features an isometric perspective and a distinctive drawn art style.
Vaewolf is available to wishlist on Steam, with a planned release for early 2027.
