In the upcoming dark fantasy RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, players will have the opportunity to influence the game's ticking clock by collecting and trading teeth with a peculiar group known as the Sanzhana, or Tooth Fairies.

These creatures, described as chubby, blue-skinned moth-like beings with whispering wings, are integral to a unique time-bending mechanic. Players can acquire teeth from fallen enemies and other sources, then offer them to the Sanzhana in exchange for unspecified alterations to the game's time limit. This system draws inspiration from folklore where fairies are often associated with time manipulation.

Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, the creative director, explained that this mechanic allows players to "play with the time limit." The game itself revolves around a 30-day and night cycle, during which players must rescue their family from a powerful vampire while managing their own burgeoning vampiric curse. Time in the game progresses in segments, and certain player choices dictate its passage.

The introduction of a 'dental temporal economy,' as it has been humorously dubbed, aims to create a sense of unpredictability and discovery. The specific details of how different types of teeth might affect time, whether players can use their own teeth, or if there are limits to the tooth trade remain to be seen. The game is set to launch in September.
