A video message shared by Vin Diesel last week, featuring him in character as Dominic Toretto and standing beside the iconic Dodge Charger R/T, initially suggested that production on the eleventh Fast & Furious film, officially titled Fast Forever, was underway. However, reports from TheWrap indicate that this is not the case, and the filming was actually related to a World Cup promotional event.

Diesel had posted the behind-the-scenes recording to his Instagram account, thanking fans for their patience and stating that the crew had been working diligently to create an "amazing finale." He expressed gratitude for the audience's support, stating, "I can feel your support, and that means the world to me." The video appeared to confirm that the long-delayed final chapter of the film saga was finally in production.

Despite Diesel's message, it became apparent over the weekend that the filming was most immediately connected to a FIFA World Cup promotion that aired in the United States during the US versus Belgium match. Universal Studios has reportedly declined to comment on the situation.

Fast Forever, the conclusion to the Fast and Furious film series, is slated for a cinematic release on March 17, 2028. The title and release date were officially announced by Universal earlier this year. Details surrounding the project remain scarce, with no cast members officially confirmed as of yet.
