Deconstructeam, the developers behind The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, are set to release their next game, Virtue and a Sledgehammer, on October 27th. The game centers on revisiting a hometown filled with emotional memories, where the player character engages in what is described as "trauma-laced DIY," which may involve leveling structures and confronting android ghosts.
A demo released in June offered a glimpse into the game's opening area. Reviewers described the experience as blending family heartbreak with intense action, featuring "chunky, crumbly, crushing catharsis" as players navigate the protagonist Pratelle's strained relationships with her mother and sister. The sister is implied to be responsible for the robotic entities now inhabiting the town.
In a Steam post announcing the release date, Deconstructeam indicated that the full version of the game contains numerous surprises and "dreadful stuff." The developers warned that players who have completed the game have reported feeling emotionally drained, suggesting it might be their most emotionally challenging title to date. The game is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
