Walmart is offering Pokémon fans a new and improved method for acquiring the upcoming 30th anniversary trading card game sets. The retailer's new raffle system aims to eliminate the chaos and stress often associated with high-demand product releases, providing a more controlled purchasing experience.

Previously, obtaining popular Pokémon TCG releases involved navigating unpredictable online drops or lining up at physical stores, often leading to disappointment. Walmart's experimental raffle system, which began in late August, allows customers to enter drawings for specific products. Winners are then randomly selected and automatically charged for their items, offering a departure from the frantic queues of past online sales.

While the raffle system requires winners to wait up to 72 hours to confirm their purchase, it is considered a significant improvement over the previous cutthroat online drop method where products frequently sold out before many customers could complete their purchase.

The 30th anniversary Pokémon TCG items available through the Walmart raffle include the Sylveon ex and Greninja ex Elite Trainer Boxes priced at $69.49, two additional Elite Trainer Boxes at $139.94, the Poster Collection for $119.82, and the Tech Sticker Collection for $239.64. These quantities may reflect adjusted limits due to anticipated demand for the new set.

Customers can enter the drawing starting September 16 at 2:00 PM PDT, with the entry window typically lasting for two hours. Confirmation of winning will come via email, with charges applied to the payment method on file, often appearing the following morning. Those not selected will not receive a notification.

To maximize chances of success, it is advised to ensure all payment and shipping information in the Walmart profile is up-to-date. The raffle provides a low-risk opportunity to purchase sought-after items at or near the manufacturer's suggested retail price without the need for in-person shopping.

While some Walmart stores may carry the 30th anniversary TCG set on release day, availability can vary. Some locations may stock products slightly before or after the official release date. Fans are encouraged to contact their local stores or monitor restock updates on social media for the most current information regarding in-store availability.
