Wardogs Devs Quickly Patch Game-Breaking XP Exploit

Wardogs developer Bulkhead has swiftly resolved an exploit that allowed players to rapidly unlock tanks on the first day of the game's second season. The bug enabled players to earn substantial experience points for the Driver role by repeatedly dropping off pallets just outside their headquarters.

This exploit allowed players to quickly progress through the Driver track, unlocking powerful anti-tank vehicles. This created an imbalance, as most players had not yet unlocked the necessary equipment to counter these tanks, effectively forcing them to either use the exploit themselves or be at a severe disadvantage. The progression bug for Driver XP and Lonestar (blue team) cash and XP bonuses have also been rectified.

In a statement, Bulkhead co-founder Howard Philpott acknowledged the issues, stating, "We're holding our hands up and we got a few things wrong." A backend update has been deployed to fix the progression bug, close the XP exploit, and remove the factional bonuses. Technical designer Mark Tadros explained in a video that players who heavily abused the exploit would receive 24-hour bans, affecting fewer than 1,000 individuals.

The community response has been divided. Some players expressed disappointment at missing out on the accelerated progression, while others noted that the exploit occurred while they were unavailable to play. Despite the temporary setback, Wardogs continues to be recognized as a successful military FPS, praised for its refreshing take on the genre.
