Humvees pose a significant threat in the recently released game Wardogs, boasting speed, robust armor capable of shrugging off multiple RPGs, and a machine gun nest that can devastate infantry. However, many players are apparently unaware of a critical vulnerability: their tires.
Targeting the tires, regardless of the weapon used, can drastically reduce the Humvee's effectiveness. Popping a single tire cuts its maximum speed by more than half, and disabling two tires slows it to a crawl. While this does not destroy the vehicle or immediately stop the gunner, it makes the vehicle a much easier target and forces the driver into a difficult decision between retreating or attempting a risky repair.
As demonstrated by YouTuber Min Max Lab, it takes only eight 5.56 bullets—the ammunition type for Wardogs' free starter rifle—to disable a tire. This means a single soldier can significantly impede a Humvee's mobility. While taking out two tires single-handedly may be challenging, disabling one is often sufficient to compel the vehicle to disengage for repairs.
Further testing reveals that shotguns are particularly effective for tire destruction, and aiming for the front of the vehicle increases damage. The durability of the Humvee's windows also varies, according to the same analysis.
