Potential changes could include challenges to vehicle operation or reduced visibility, which could significantly alter the Wardogs experience, particularly if the weather transitions dynamically rather than being a static element of specific matches.
Season 2 will also implement a progress wipe, resetting all player unlocks and ranks. This measure is intended to rebalance the game at the start of each season, preventing veteran players from maintaining an insurmountable advantage. While this approach aims to maintain the in-game economy's value by preserving player incentive, it has drawn some criticism from players who will need to re-unlock content shortly after the game's early access debut.
Wardogs has experienced considerable success since its launch, selling over two million copies in its initial weekend and remaining one of the most played titles on Steam. Developer Bulkhead Games plans to continue expanding the game with new content.
The console version of Wardogs is slated for a 2028 release. This extended development timeline is partly to avoid developer crunch, according to Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer, who expressed a desire to prevent overworking the team despite pressure to bring the game to consoles sooner.
