Bulkhead and Team17 have detailed the upcoming Season 3 for their tactical shooter, Wardogs. A significant addition is Limited Mode, a new gameplay option designed to offer a more accessible experience for newer players by restricting available weaponry, ammo, armor, and vehicles. This mode aims to mitigate the feeling of being outmatched by players with more in-game progression.
Season 3 Content and Changes
Season 3, which will be longer than previous seasons, is set to last three months. In response to player feedback from Season 2, Bulkhead stated they will focus more on their own vision for the game rather than reacting to every community demand. Progression systems are being adjusted to align more closely with Season 1. While a larger meta-game progression overhaul is planned for 2027, Season 3 will introduce multi-track unlocks, allowing some items to be acquired through various progression paths. Players can earn cash and experience in Limited Mode, which can then be used in the standard game mode.
Significant efforts have also been made to improve Wardogs' anti-cheat systems, with a notable portion of the Season 3 announcement video dedicated to this aspect. Specific patch notes for the season have not yet been released and are expected closer to the launch date.
Wardogs Season 3 is scheduled to begin on November 12. The game is currently in early access on Windows PC, with a full 1.0 launch planned for 2027. A console release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is anticipated in 2028.
